2002 Ohum Picnic
Saturday, July 27, 2002 was a day
to remember. Okyeman members enjoyed themselves with their families
on the ocasion of Annual Ohum Picnic. This celebration took place
at the Thompson Park on Brimley and Lawrence Avenue in Scarborough,
Toronto.
As early as 9 a.m. members started
arriving at the park with their families. The park was flooded
the previous day after a heavy downpour, so some members volunteered
to clean the entire spot ready for the picnic. The weather was
nice and clear and no anticipation of rain in the weather forecast.
At 11 a.m. the barbecue grill was
fired and the meat, sausages, burgers, hot dogs started to roll.
Members started serving themselves with food brought by the ladies
and some bachelors. Of course some bachelors are more than chefs
in their own kitchen.
Children started playing around and
members started grouping having various discussions about activities
of the association. It was a day to remember. Pictures were taken
for the album.
The picnic came to close around 7
p.m.
